Tao Condominium

Where East Meets West

On January 11, 2006, Weitzer Communities broke ground on a luxury condominium project that will offer a new, exciting way of life in western Broward County.
The project will be called Tao - a Chinese term meaning "The Way" - and will feature two contemporary 26-story towers and a total of 396 residences.

A variety of one, two- and three-bedroom floor plans will be available, as well as two-story ground-level villas. Most floor plans will offer 1,100 to 1,700 square feet of living space, although some 2,000-square-foot units will be available. Prices range from the $500,000s to more than $800,000.

The condominiums' location will offer residents unbeatable access to the finest amenities in South Florida. Tao will be situated along Flamingo Road, just across from world-class shopping destination Sawgrass Mills. The development will be a short walk from The Oasis, which features a 23-screen movie theatre and such popular restaurants as The Cheesecake Factory, Legal Sea Foods and Wolfgang Puck's Grand Cafe. In addition, Tao will be convenient to the BankAtlantic Center and its top-quality array of entertainment and sporting events.

"We're taking all of the glamour and excitement of a resort-style Miami Beach high-rise and bringing it to Sunrise. East truly meets West at Tao," said developer Jim Rosewater. "Tao will feature incredible amenities like valet parking, fitness and tennis facilities, a lagoon-style swimming pool and so much more. These sophisticated amenities are an excellent complement to the Metropica project - the new urban center being developed in Sunrise."

In recognition of its excellence, Tao Condominiums was named Florida's 2006 Luxury Residential High Rise Project of the Year in May 2006 by the Developers and Builders Alliance (DBA). Selection criteria for this prestigious award included the project's overall impact in the community, technical excellence (building structure, architectural and interior design), and innovative design and construction.

DBA, based in South Florida, is a statewide organization that promotes the building and construction industry, and serves as a recognized source of up-to-date industry information. The organization's influential membership includes developers, large general contractors, architects, engineers, major suppliers, real estate executives and other industry professionals. Donald Trump is the honorary chairman of DBA's board, and Gil Dezer of Trump Dezer Development serves as its president.

Davie-based Weitzer Communities was founded in 1976. This award-winning development company has constructed some of the most attractive communities in South Florida, including the much-anticipated Villa Zamora in Coral Gables.
